Her real name is Alvina Hanna but she goes by the name Spice. The 46-year-old skilled mason and construction worker has dedicated 20 years in the business. Spice loves her job and don’t see herself doing anything else anytime soon.

Hard Work, The Key To Success
Ms. Hanna never cower when faced with hard work. She runs towards the opportunity and Beni fits that hard work offers. Long hours, body aches and dirty apparels does not stop Spice from working hard.
“I grew up and hear that by the sweat of your brow you shall eat bread. Nobody gonna take up bread and give you for the whole time, suh mi mek sure seh my brow dem always a sweat,” she told the observer.
How She Got Her Name
She got her name from her co-workers who dubbed her “spice” because of her love of spicy 🌶 foods.
Background
Her father and grandfather was also a mason and they would let her used their shovel in construction sites. She never envision herself as a future mason but look at her now!
She Does Not Like Feminine Jobs
Spice loves mason work and have tried sewing, hairdressing but did not enjoy the profesión. She would rather do; block work, door-jam, window-jam, flashing granite ceilings, mix mortar, dash bucket, yell and mouth other men on the job site.
Purpose
Even though the job is rough and touch, Spice believe she is living in her purpose and does not see herself doing anything else.
