Having low-energy on a daily basis is not normal. If you feel this way on a daily basis I would advise that you seek medical attention.
If you are like me and you feel lethargic from time-to-time I have some quick remedies that will jump start your body’s energy levels.
Low-energy can be the source of many illnesses such as; low-blood pressure issues, anemia, lymes disease, diabetes, thyroid, sleep apnea, infections, heart disease, menopause, kidney problems and various cancers. Low-energy can also be caused by your diet or the lack of a proper diet.
Low-protein – intake can cause you to feel slow and cloudy at times.
Low-carbohydrates – have also been known to cause low-energy. Carbs are fuel for the body and without a healthy amount of carbs, the body will slow down.
Dehydration – when the body is water deficient, your organs begin to slow down, causing you to feel slow.
Below I have compiled a list of the main ways you can boost your energy without breaking the bank.

Drink lots of Water
One common reason for feeling low-energy is being dehydrated. Your body needs water consistently to flush out toxins out the kidney and regulate the body’s temperature. Water also helps provide oxygen to your blood as well as energizing your muscles, aiding with cramps and fatigue. By not drinking adequate amounts of water the body begins to shut down slowly, so drink a lot of water – a little at a time.
Eat More Leafy Greens
Leafy greens like callaloo and spinach are packed with iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and vitamins A, C, E, as well as fibers and antioxidants. Eating a lot of greens helps with proper blood and oxygen circulation.
Eat More Fruits
Fruits like apples, pineapples and others are rich in vitamins and antioxidants which helps the body to replenish its energy levels. Fruits are also vital in fighting off viruses and bacterias because of its rich antioxidant properties.
Too Much Caffeine
Drinking caffeine can be good, it provides a quick-boost in energy levels but can cause side-effects. One main side-effect is low-energy levels. After drinking too much caffeine the body has to do a lot of work breaking the caffeine down and can crash as a result.
Drink More Tea
Green tea is rich in antioxidants which fights back anxiety, stress and fatigue. Green tea also contains caffeine, not as much as a cup of coffee but certainly enough caffeine to jump start your day.
Eat More Rice
Rice is rich in healthy carbohydrates that the body breaks down into energy. Carbs can be consumed before a workout to give you an extra push in your workout routine. Rice also contains proteins and potassium which fuels the muscles.
Stop Drinking Alcohol
Alcohol slows down the body’s motor function and reaction time. Your body has to work harder to expel alcohol waste from your body which leaves you feeling slow and foggy. Even days after consuming too much alcohol the body can still feel the effects.
No Smoking
Smoking depletes the body’s oxygen levels, and contaminates the lungs and blood. Like alcohol, smoking makes the body work extra hard causing us to feel lethargic.
Exercise More
Exercising more stimulates the brain which sends a signal to the body to be more active. Exercising also releases endorphins which boosts our moods and energy levels. After a good workout, whether it’s cardio or strength workout – I feel more energetic afterwards.
Sleep More
It is a no brainer that sleeping boosts our energy levels. Sleeping and naps will re-energize our bodies, allowing us to think more clearly and have enough energy for the gym or love life.
Eat More Pear (Avocado)
Pears are rich in vitamin b and healthy fats. After consuming pear, your body breaks down the fat converting it into energy. Avocados are also rich in carbs and fibers which promote healthy bowel movements.
Eat more Beans
Beans are rich in proteins, the high protein factor charges the muscle which in turns helps it to grow and recover quickly. Some beans are higher in protein click this link to know which has the highest levels of protein.
Consume More Beets
Beet roots are rich in nitrates, this helps blood and oxygen flow to the tissues. Due to this factor the body is more energized. Drinking beets in the morning has a greater effect on the body compared to coffee.
