After all, the place looks like a hole in the wall, slightly stuffy with no windows, mediocre customer service and loud music blazin’. However I could not deny the wonderful aroma of jerk chicken. I was told this place sells the best jerk chicken essentially, “authentic Jamaican” cuisine. Skeptical but I was willing to give Peppa’s a fair shot.

Stepping into Peppa’s on Utica ave was a better experience, I was greeted by a vibrant atmosphere, splashed with the Jamaica colors. The air buzzing with chatter and unfortunately loud music filled with fouled language. The tantalizing scent of jerk chicken filling my nostrils sparked my curiosity, I scanned the room noticing the chef in the back hard at work while another cook was in the front, both in a thick cloud of jerk smoke.
