Fried Dumplings might be simple to the inexperienced but requires good technique to ensure it comes out just right.

Fried dumplings were possible invented out of poverty. Jamaicans had to find a way to stretch the little they had. Flour was cheap and they found many ways to implement flour in their meals.

in modern times there are many different styles of fried dumpling; festival, baked, stamps etc are all versions of dumplings.

i will show you how easy it is to make fry dumpling using my recipe.

Fried dumpling recipe perfected by a seasoned dumpling maker. This dumpling is crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside.

Equipment

  • Frying pan
  • Measuring utensils
  • Bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Flour ((all purpose))
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/4 cup Water (Cold)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

Instructions 

  • Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl
  • Add water and mix
  • Kneed and roll flour in a ball
  • Take a tablespoon amount of dough and roll then press down firmly in hand
  • Set frying pan to medium-low
  • Add rolled and pressed dough to frying pan
  • Once golden brown flip the dumplings
  • Remove dumplings from pot once the other side is golden brown
